Class Descriptions:
Hot Flow Yoga--
Get
ready to work hard and sweat it all out in a room heated to 32C.
This dynamic, flow-style class integrates the breath with
movement and builds flexibility, stamina and
strength. Sequences include sun salutations and standing,
balancing, seated, inverted,
hip-opening and spine-awakening postures. You will learn
principles of alignment in each posture while maximizing mental
focus and equanimity. This class heals, detoxifies and energizes
your mind and body. Beginners will be challenged, all levels
welcome.
Hot
Foundation--A
well-rounded series of foundational postures practiced in a hot room
(39C) to stretch, strengthen and tone the muscles while detoxifying
the body. While all classes follow a basic structure of standing and
floor postures, each class offers a varied sequence of
postures to keep the body-mind connection sharp. The slower pace
allows time to work with
alignment in each of the postures. Modifications for each posture
will be offered to suit your level of ability. For all levels.
Yin
Yoga --
A
quiet practice that focuses on holding floor postures for extended
periods (2-10
minutes) to stimulate the connective tissue that forms our joints.
Classes target problematic areas of the body such as the spine,
pelvis, hips and upper legs. Enjoy a deep physical opening while
cultivating inner awareness and relaxation. Breathing techniquesare
introduced. A perfect compliment for classes such as Hot
Foundation, Hot Flow and BootCamp. All levels.
Yoga for Runners/Endurance Athletes --
Open to all
levels of runners and endurance athletes. One of the keys to
developing athletic potential and preventing injuries is
flexibility, core stability and muscular balance. The foundations of
yoga are used to bring awareness to the
structural and muscular imbalances caused by repetitive strain on
specific muscles and joints. Each week will have a different body
emphasis as we target all the 'hot spots'. You will leave each
class feeling a little lighter and more balanced. There is no
requirement for flexibility that is what we hope to improve!
